House of Gucci
Directed by Ridley Scott (2021)
Despite good performances from Adam Driver and Lady Gaga, this film was mostly boring. I felt it was too long for a not that compelling story. I don't have too much to say - it wasn't a bad movie, but House of Gucci left almost no impression on me. Take that how you will!
As a side note, I've come to realize I have almost zero interest in fiction about rich people having rich people problems. I think it's a form of media that tries to appeal to the general population by humanizing the wealthy (not that they aren't human). Hey, the upper class have problems too! And maybe one day I can be rich too because see they're normal just like me. Better keep idolizing the wealthy lifestyle and keep playing my middle-class role. It works as a form of film especially because it is visually appealing to see a bunch of rich attractive people on screen, but I find the stories not compelling at all. Ok, my lame rant is over. I don't think there is actually some big conspiracy to "control the masses", I just dislike the obsession with wealth.
