Coherence
Directed by James Ward Byrkit (2013)
As low-budget as it gets (Google says $50k), Coherence focuses on one night at one house with one friend group. Amongst already tense relationships, tensions get higher as weird things start to happen due to a comet passing by Earth. Part sci-fi and part psychological thriller, the characters begin to question what's real, who they can trust, and chaos ensues. The twists are believable enough yet also make you go "oh shit" - if one were really trying they could have predicted the twist, which is what makes it a good one in my opinion. Witty enough dialogue adds a comedic touch here and there, while making the movie feel pretty "real"; as if this was just happening to some normal-ish people. This movie isn't the most well rounded, but watch it with a couple friends and I'm sure you'll have fun.
