Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy

Directed by Adam McKay (2004)

Before watching this movie, in my head Anchorman held a place in the section of comedic classics - basically, I thought it was supposed to be good. I'm sorry Ron Burgundy, and all his fans, but Anchorman is mostly crude (i.e. bad) comedy that generates a few cheap laughs but generally kept me uninterested. My only guess for how this movie is so famous is that it was a product of its time, where sexist humor was funny. One impressive thing about the movie was its cast - honestly crazy how many big names it had. Even random minor characters were huge actors. Maybe they weren't big names in 2004, I'm not sure, but they surely are by today. Here's a few: Will Ferrell, Christina Applegate, Paul Rudd, Steve Carell, Kathryn Hahn, Judd Apatow, Ben Stiller, Seth Rogen, Fred Armisen, Tina Fey, Danny Trejo, John C. Reilly. That's not even an exhaustive list!
