Let Him Go

Directed by Thomas Bazucha (2020)

Before watching this, I warned my mom that out of our three choices of movies (including Martin Eden and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy), Let Him Go had the most potential to be "twisted", a word she used to describe something she probably didn't want to watch. I think I was right, as this movie was quite twisted at times. Let Him Go chronicles the journey of two grandparents to ensure the safety of their grandson. It turns out the family the grandson is with is cult-like and maybe just straight up evil, and the battle that ensues between the two families is tense beyond comfort. I won't lie, this movie is difficult to watch, but the superb acting, beautiful cinematography, and crazy adrenaline make it a well put together film.  (01/02/21)
