Kodachrome

Directed by Mark Raso (2018)

With a star-studded cast of Jason Sudeikis, Elizabeth Olsen, Ed Harris, and the Allstate Man (Dennis Haysbert, apparently), the Netflix title-cover for Kodachrome was intriguing enough to click. The film focuses on the first three actors I mentioned, and largely revolves around poignant dialogue between the father (Harris) and son (Sudeikis). Olsen plays the mediator, attempting to convince both parties to try a little harder to understand their opposition.

I'm not sure what this movie lacked, but it lacked something. I can't shrug the feeling that it was just ... bland. The acting was good, the writing was heart-felt, cinematography and music choice were tasteful. There were scenes that elicit emotions of sadness and anger. It was definitely a well-made movie! I have nothing against it; I'll recommend it for a lazy Sunday watch, but at the end of the day it just isn't that memorable of a film.
