22 Jump Street

One of the rare sequels that lives up to its original, 22 Jump Street is the perfect action comedy. I had seen it before, but Auva and I randomly really wanted to watch this, so we did. This movie does everything right in terms of silly humor, but is also surprisingly meta in its premise. Throughout the beginning of the film, the characters keep mentioning "it's exactly like the first time", but with a "bigger budget". When explosions or destructions happen, it is often questioned and answered by "because we can!" And it works, the formula for the first movie but with a bigger budget made for a great time. If you want a laugh, 22 Jump Street is a safe bet. (03/13/21)
